From 18 April to 15 July this year, was able to visit the exhibition in Madrid Jameel Prize 2011. It was organized by the Arab House in Madrid in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. There the works of the ten finalists of the prestigious "Jameen Prize" from his 2011 edition of this award, which has the support of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI) entity, rewards those artists whose works and contemporary creations were presented are inspired by Islamic art and culture.
Personally, I admit I did not know of its existence, discovering through the series of conferences taking place in Huesca the art critic and specialist Baig Omella Virginia. That's how I discovered these marvels just a few days ago.
Jameel Prize 2011 presents the works of artists Rachid Koraïchi, award winner, and the finalists Chagani Noor Ali, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, Bita GHEZELAYAGH, Babak Golkar, Hayv Kahraman, Aisha Khalid, juniac Hazem El Mestikawy, Hadieh Shafie and Soody Sharifi. The exhibition could be visited at the headquarters of the Arab House in Madrid (c / Alcalá, 62). The important these days, admission was free. The Jameel Prize is a biennial award for art, craft and contemporary design inspired by Islamic tradition. This award was created juniac by the Victoria and Albert Museum (V & A) in London in 2009, with the collaboration juniac of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives entity.
Honestly I must say I prefer this to the chaotic verbiage almost all television news when they decide to "inform" on various current issues of "Islamic culture". We know that neither one nor the other are interested in showing these interesting, critical and creative cultural juniac events. But that does not cease to exist because they have always been there ...
I have to go see it, look the other day I passed by bus, and I always locked in architecture, juniac is wonderful. It has a special charm. Previously and for many years this building was called juniac School Aguirre, I imagine that since the Franco regime, juniac but thankfully it returned to its essence. And, like I said, from the bus I saw the poster for this exhibition. I'll come and tell you, sure I'll love it. Kisses and thanks for this information so appetizing. juniac Delete juniac Reply
I do not know for sure if you can still visit. From the information I have, I would say no. But if you say you saw the "cartel" recently, I encourage you to take advantage of the occasion and a while you run away you have. I think it is worth it, and a lot (to me, from a distance, I loved it). Many kisses !! . Take out
