With its nearly 19-foot wingspan, the UCAV Northrop Grumman X-47B has been embarked in the port of Norfolk aboard the carrier Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) to conduct a series of tests of this technology demonstrator on board the aircraft carrier.
These will take place over three weeks and will be made both in port and sailing to check the ability to integrate this type of aircraft operating on a carrier. Already in 2013 will be conducted as new evidence included both takeoff and landing on aircraft carriers, and in 2014 will test your ability to be refueled in flight in an autonomous manner.
