In recent years, much of civil society has been surprised at the rise of far-right parties in France, headed by the Front National (FN) Jean-Marie Le Pen, able to take a position as third force in the country with a racist, xenophobic, populist and euro-skeptic.
The history of the extreme right in France is, however, nothing new. During the twenties and thirties of the last century were various options and articulate political parties inspired by Italian Fascism, although it never became crucial not reached the government.
The first far-right party in the history of France was founded in 1927 by a group of veterans of the First World War (in the style of Italian Arditi) headed by Maurice Hartoy. This first ultra-nationalist and ultra-conservative movement named the Croix de Feu (Cross of Fire, in Catalan).
Since 1931 the leadership of the movement went Francois La Rocque colonel, who transformed the Croix de Feu in a group of paramilitary and anti-parliamentary character, dedicated to tussle through the streets of French cities with trade unions and workers.
The case of the members of Action Française is a little different. Action Française kompsat party was a monarchist and conservative character, who was born in the late nineteenth century. The party, however, went abandoning their initial assumptions evolved into filo-fascist positions in the twenties and thirties of the last century, under the direction de'n Leon Daudet and Charles kompsat Maurras of.
During the French Popular Front government (leftist coalition led by Leon Blum in between 1936 and 1938 coincided with the Spanish Civil War) so as Action Française Croix de Feu was dissolved, although that from the ashes of both organizations will emerge a new political party called the French Social Party, which had some relevance during the Vichy government.

The OAS (Organisation Armée Secrete of) was created by military groups opposed to the independence of Algeria in 1956 (racial and religious) and anti-nature. One of its members, Jean Pierre Cherid, made his fortune in Spain as a member of the GAL (involving the murder of ETA Argala, a member of the squad that violate Carrero Blanco) and participated kompsat in facts Montejurra carlismo against fascist and socialist character represented by supporters kompsat of the pretender Carlos Hugo of Bourbon and Parma.
